Reasons 2 Celebrate: Jan. 12th - 19th

Here are few thing 2 celebrate this week.

National Book Week (good excuse to sit and read while my laundry piles up)
National Bowling Week (we are going for our family night activity this week)
National Pizza Week (i think we celebrate this every week...)

12th :: Today is National Marzipan Day (always wanted to learn to make this)
13th :: National Peach Melba Day
14th :: National Hot Pastrami Sandwich Day
            (mr. think plans on celebrating big time. me not so much.)
15th :: National Strawberry Ice Cream Day (adding this to my shopping list today)
16th :: National Fig Newton Day (these too)
17th :: World Religion Day
18th :: Winnie the Pooh Day
             (i'm excited! reading the books and eating little smakerels of honey)
18th :: Is also Thesaurus Day.  (be very wordy)
19th :: National Popcorn Day (i'm partial to the white cheddar kind lately)

National Whipped Cream Day

Pink :: Are you in need of a holiday today?

 If you are... it's National Whipped Cream Day and I plan to celebrate! I guess it is the inventor of Reddi-wip's birthday today. Their website has some fun games to play here. I might play one or two with Little Think since she heads back to school tomorrow.   A few Christmases ago my sister gave me this thing and it is the best! Kind of pricey but so worth it. You just put some heavy whipping creme in straight out of the carton and screw on a CO2 cardridge and it makes perfect whipped creme. It keeps in the fridge so I just pull it out whenever I need a little something to jazz things up a bit. Will put some on top of our hot chocolate tonight as we watch our beloved Buckeyes get whipped by Texas in the Fiesta Bowl. Sigh... Extra tough since I am in Texas. (I felt very brave flying my Buckeye flag outside all weekend, but Texas fans are always nothing but polite.) Found the short squatty peppermint sticks at Wal-Mart. Adds to the festivness don't you think? Unfortunatly adds to the stickiness with Little Think.

By the way, tomorrow is National Shortbread Day. Have any good recipes? I've never made it but I love to eat it. So much for Diet Resolution Week. We should also tell the Good Mail Queen that it is Universal Letter Writing Week.
